Settlement in digital assets
Trade on MultiBank Exchange. Settle through MB.io, our VARA-regulated digital asset exchange, which provides the liquidity and delivers the agreed asset to the counterparty’s wallet.

MB.io is licensed by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority in Dubai. Settlement in USDU, a UAE-regulated digital dollar, is a separate route currently in development and subject to approval. USDU is issued by Universal Digital Intl Limited, not by MultiBank Exchange.
One relationship, and the asset the counterparty actually wants
One relationship, two venues
The trade is executed on MultiBank Exchange and routed to MB.io for settlement. The counterparty deals with MultiBank Exchange throughout. A direct MB.io relationship is available to any counterparty that wants one, but it is not required.
Liquidity from MB.io
MB.io provides the liquidity behind the pair, so the price and the settlement come from the same place.
Delivery in the agreed asset
If the counterparty settles in BTC, MB.io delivers BTC to its whitelisted wallet. If it wants a different listed asset, it delivers that instead.
Any pair we create
More than 100 assets are listed on MB.io under its VARA licence. Where both legs are listed, we can create the pair and settle it. Counterparties tell us the pair they need.
USDU
A UAE-regulated dollar token as a further settlement asset, issued by Universal Digital Intl Limited. Proposed, not yet available, and subject to regulatory confirmation and internal approval.
WHERE THIS SITS
An additional route at the settlement step
MEX ECN provides execution. MEX PB provides credit, margin and settlement. MEX Technologies provides connectivity. MB.io settles in digital assets, with the liquidity and the delivery coming from a venue licensed by the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority in Dubai.
It is an additional route. It does not replace physical or net settlement, and no member is required to use it.

Eligibility, instruction, transfer, outcome
Eligibility
The member is classified, onboarded and documented, and elects settlement in USDU in writing.
Instruction
The obligation is identified and the settlement instruction is issued.
Transfer
USDU moves between segregated wallets at a licensed custodian.
Outcome
The member holds the USDU for reuse, or redeems it with the issuer for US dollars.
WHAT IT WOULD CHANGE FOR OPERATIONS
One balance a member can reuse
Settlement value would move between approved counterparties without passing through a chain of correspondent banks. The member would hold a dollar balance it can apply to its next settlement, rather than waiting for a sequence of bank transfers to complete.
Blockchain confirmation is not the same as receiving bank dollars. The fiat leg continues to follow banking hours and the issuer's redemption terms.
Current status
- Permitted use and entity permissions are being confirmed with counsel
- No custodian is yet appointed
- A controlled pilot is proposed, subject to approval
- Nothing on these pages is an offer, a commitment or a confirmation of availability
